5 reasons women eating under 1,200 calories still can't lose the weight
Debbie asked me to explain what happened to her. Here is the whole explanation.
I see this pattern in my clinic more than almost any other. The effort is real. The numbers on paper look fine. And the scale still won't move. These are the five reasons I give.
1. Your TSH results leave out the part that matters

A standard thyroid panel checks TSH and T4. When those land in range, the visit ends and the focus goes back to willpower.
But that number tells us whether the thyroid hormone showed up. It does not tell us whether your body is using it.
The lab counts the boxes. It doesn’t check who carries them inside.
2. Your cells can’t use the T4 your doctor prescribed

Levothyroxine is T4. T4 is the storage form of thyroid hormone. On its own it doesn’t do the work.
Your body has to convert it into T3, the form your cells actually use. Your medication supplies the T4. It does not perform the conversion for you.
Think of your pill as a delivery driver. Every morning he drops the boxes on your porch. The lab walks by, counts them, and says perfect.
You can have a full porch and an empty house.
The pill delivers
T4 arrives on the porch every morning
Someone has to carry it in
The T4 to T3 conversion, the step nobody checks
Your cells use T3
The active form that runs your energy and metabolism
3. No one told you what starts up the T3 conversion

The enzymes that convert T4 into T3 depend on selenium, with zinc and copper working along the same pathway. A standard thyroid panel doesn’t measure any of them.
That is why this step is so easy to miss. Your prescription covers the T4. The step after it usually never comes up in the appointment.
Selenium
Supports the enzymes involved in T4-to-T3 conversion.
Found inBrazil nuts (1 or 2 a day is plenty), tuna, sardines, eggs
Zinc
Supports normal thyroid function and the maintenance of healthy hair.
Found inOysters, beef, pumpkin seeds, chickpeas
Copper
Balances a zinc-containing formula and supports normal energy metabolism.
Found inCashews, sesame seeds, shellfish, dark chocolate
Medication delivers. Minerals help carry it in.
4. Gluten free was never going to reach the T3 conversion

Most women do the natural thing when the scale won’t move: push harder. Smaller meals, more coffee, earlier workouts, more worry about every bite.
Your body can read all of that as stress and release more cortisol, which tells it to hold on to energy. Ongoing stress can also slow that same T4-to-T3 step. The harder you diet, the tighter the loop can get.
Hair serums, biotin and shampoos have the same limit. They work on the surface of a problem that sits one step deeper.
Cutting more takes things away. It never carries anything in.
5. Nobody ever gave you the right dose for the conversion

Food is a good place to start. But Brazil nuts, oysters and pumpkin seeds vary a lot from one to the next, and with selenium, more isn’t better. Zinc and copper also work best when they’re in balance.
Getting all three in the right amounts, every single day, is hard to do by eye. And it’s almost never something anyone explains in an appointment.
That’s the gap I point women to look at next, alongside their prescribed care: a measured daily amount, so there’s nothing to weigh out or guess.
Not more. Just the right amount.

What women are saying
“I’ve already noticed a difference.”
I’ve been taking this thyroid support supplement for a little over a week now, and I’ve already noticed a difference. I’m really happy with how I’m feeling so far and excited to continue taking it to see how things progress. So far, I’m very pleased with it
“Tried the biotin, the oils, the expensive shampoo. None of it touched the real problem.”
A few weeks into this and my routine finally feels simple, one capsule instead of five bottles under my sink. Wish I’d started sooner.
“Improved my energy levels!”
I have only been taking them for a few days but I most definitely HAVE noticed a difference in my energy levels; I am awake during the day much more and appear to be sleeping much more sound at night. I am happy and glad that I purchased these...
“The first one gave me awful heartburn. This one I can actually stick with.”
This one has been much gentler, and after a few weeks, my hair is starting to feel softer and less brittle. I’m just relieved I found something I can actually stick with.
Questions women ask
Can I take it with my thyroid medication?
VYREX is made to take alongside it, not instead of it. Take it 4 hours apart from your medication, and keep taking your medication exactly as prescribed.
Will it affect my lab results?
VYREX contains no added iodine and no biotin, so it won’t skew your thyroid labs.
Why selenium, zinc and copper?
Selenium supports the enzymes involved in T4-to-T3 conversion. Zinc and copper work along the same pathway, and copper balances a zinc-containing formula.
What if I already take selenium?
More selenium does not improve conversion when you already have enough, so your diet, existing supplements and health history help decide whether this fits. That’s a good conversation to have with your doctor.
What should I tell my doctor?
Show them the label. Every ingredient and dose is listed openly, with no proprietary blend.
What if it doesn’t work for me?
Try VYREX for 30 days. If you don’t love how you feel, email us and we’ll refund you. No hoops, no need to mail anything back.
Ask a different question this time
Not “how do I eat less?” but “is the step after my medication getting what it needs?”
